The first-ever Snow Pirates Co. headline event, BOMBS AWAY, went down at Ruby Hill in Denver, Colorado — and it was nothing short of an explosion.
After years of being involved in the snowboard community through jams, sponsorships, and supporting other grassroots events, Snow Pirates Co. finally hosted its own flagship gathering — a free, community-based snowboard event built for everyone. No registration fees. No pressure. Just good snowboarding, good people, and a full day of chaos in the best possible way.
Over 150 riders showed up, covering the hill with energy from top to bottom. The sun was blazing, the snow was soft, and the March slush made for perfect spring session conditions. Men and women of all skill levels dropped in side by side — from first-time competitors to seasoned locals and pro riders — all just riding for the love of it.
Will Gosh, Cameron Lawrence, and the Ruby Hill Park Crew threw together a course that had everyone absolutely frothing. A creative mix of rails, bonks, and side hits kept the jam flowing all day, and no matter where you looked, someone was throwing down.
The entire Snow Pirates Co. team showed up, not just to ride, but to build, film, and bring the whole thing together. Turbo was, of course, first in line to drop. Riders like LJ Henriquez (Burton / Red Bull), Kaiden Paulson (Goon Gear), James Halohan (Never Summer), Tommy Lynch, Aaron Hoffman, Nick Danna, Lauren Gretz, and countless others showed up to send it and show love. It was a melting pot of local legends, traveling homies, and new faces — all feeding off the same stoke.
The crowd packed tighter and tighter throughout the day as riders dialed in tricks and lines, the energy building with every landed hit. It wasn’t about competition — it was about community. People cheering for each other, handing out high fives, and just enjoying snowboarding in its purest form.
The event was supported by Slush Magazine and the City and County of Denver, both helping make the dream a reality.
When the jam wrapped, the Snow Pirates crew did what they do best — celebrated hard. The team and friends took the stoke from the hill into Denver for the night, capping off what was a memorable snowboard community event.
BOMBS AWAY wasn’t just a jam — it was a statement. A reminder that snowboarding belongs to everyone, and that good people, good weather, and good vibes are all you really need.
Nobody does it quite like the Snow Pirates team.
See you next year for BOMBS AWAY 2.0.
